01The Challenge

The agent harness performance optimization system, ECC, faced challenges in optimizing the context window, persisting data, and ensuring security while providing a coordinated engineering system and toolbox for agents. The system needed to plan, test, implement, review, verify, and remember changes, and turn repeated wins into reusable skills and workflows. Additionally, the system required integration with various harnesses such as Claude Code, Codex, and others, while maintaining a high level of security and performance.

02Our Solution

<p>The solution involved designing a comprehensive system that includes 67 agents, 281 skills, and 94 legacy command shims, plus hooks, rules, memory, continuous learning, and AgentShield security scanning. The system was built using a combination of technologies such as GitHub, Claude Code, and Codex, and was designed to work seamlessly with various harnesses.</p><ul><li>The ECC system was implemented using a modular architecture, with each component designed to work independently and collectively to provide a coordinated engineering system and toolbox for agents.</li><li>The system utilized a skills-first approach, with a focus on providing a wide range of skills and workflows that can be easily integrated and customized.</li><li>To ensure security, the system included AgentShield, a security scanning component that scans for prompts, hooks, MCP config, permissions, secrets, and agent files.</li><li>The system was designed to be highly customizable, with a focus on providing a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of various users and use cases.</li><li>The implementation involved a combination of coding languages, including JavaScript, Python, and others, and utilized a range of tools and technologies such as GitHub, Claude Code, and Codex.</li></ul><p>Example code snippets:</p><code>git clone https://github.com/affaan-m/ECC.git<br>cd ECC<br>npm install<br>bash script/ecc.sh</code><p>These code snippets demonstrate the installation and setup process for the ECC system, and provide an example of how the system can be easily integrated and customized.</p>
